National Standards for Community Foundations

As a community foundation, we adhere to the rigorous standards set forth by the Council on Foundations, which takes a leadership role in shaping community foundations’ self-regulation. Read more about these National Standards.

Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest

Members of the Community Foundation’s staff, board and its various committees have an ethical and legal obligation to respect the privacy of the donors, grantees or other aspects of the Community Foundation business and operations.

The Conflict of Interest Policy is signed annually by board members, staff and committee members to affirm that the individual has read and understands the policy, has agreed to comply with the policy and has disclosed any potential conflict of interest.

All scholarship selection volunteers associated with any Community Foundation scholarship award acknowledge that information contained in student scholarship application forms, essays and letters of recommendation must be maintained in a confidential manner at all times. They also affirm that they will not participate on the selection committee during any year where a related family member is an applicant.
